The Virtual World
"Is there another life? Shall I awake and find all this a dream? There must be, we cannot be created for this sort of suffering."
— John Keats
You are living in a world of make-believe, a world of illusion, a world dominated by Evil, a world that was never meant to be. This is a world in which life is based in suffering and death, where wrong is accepted as right, and what is abnormal has become "normal." This is not a Divine world, but a kind of nightmarish dream, in which you suffer and may even die, spiritually. Perhaps you have accepted life in this virtual world as "the way things are" or "the way things are supposed to be." Neither is the case. Nothing here is as it appears to be; nothing here is as it should be.
Even a cursory look at what is considered acceptable entertainment and escape, and what brings in billions of dollars in profits — violent video games, pornography, New Age gurus, endless sporting events, alcohol and drugs, and every form of addiction — reveals there is something terribly wrong with life in this world. Entertainers such as Criss Angel, "Mindfreak," looking like a demon straight from Hell; the demons of Victoria's Secret, putting on wings and calling themselves "Angels"; male rap singers calling each other "dog" and their females "whores"; rock groups such as Megadeath; lipsticks named Gash, Gangrene, Toxin ... well, you get the picture. What is totally wrong and demonic has now become totally acceptable to the masses, and a great source of pleasure. Halloween, which was originally supposed to be a spiritual celebration of saints has degenerated into a glorification of all that is dark and demonic; it now ranks just behind Christmas as the holiday people spend the most money to commemorate. Given enough time, Halloween and the celebration of darkness and Evil will surely outpace Christmas and the celebration of Goodness and Light.
Clearly, things are backwards here. And people pretend to be what they are not. The evil ones especially pretend to be good. There are "spiritual" seminars to embrace the shadow and celebrate "darkness" as if it were Light. We have Jung to thank for this reversal of meaning, whereby the demonic is now praised and glorified as if it were Divine. It is not. In this world of problems, false solutions predominate.
In this world of illusions, we find: A. people who realize the world is quite false, illusory, unreal, or just not right (and thereby "awaken"), B. those who prefer to remain asleep in this virtual world (thinking all is basically well), and C. those who prey upon the rest (and who try to make sure few people awaken). Those who can see beyond or through this world's illusions are in the minority. That does not make them wrong. It is a sad commentary on human life that the majority have no interest whatsoever in any Greater Truth. They would rather enjoy their illusions. read more ...
