Mind Control
"Such as are your habitual thoughts, such also will be the character of your mind; for the soul is dyed by the thoughts."
— Marcus Aurelius
What is it about leaders, that compels them to try to totally control the thinking and minds of their people; or, if unsuccessful at it, to ridicule, condemn, or destroy those who think differently?
Have you ever wondered how a whole nation — millions of ordinary people, blue-collar workers, doctors, lawyers, ministers, children, police — could have the same wrong thinking? Think of Nazi Germany. What were all of those people thinking? And, how does this relate to your life, in your country, where you are "free" to think the way everyone else does?
You may not be aware of how your thinking and behavior are governed by forces outside you. Most people, most of the time, are governed by and act out of their programming and social conditioning, habitually, unthinkingly. People accept every sort of external influence without discerning, without taking the time to sort out what is right, good, and true versus what is not. This occurs in regard to religion, business, government, education, and other institutions. Whoever controls your mind and your thinking controls your behavior, your choices, and your life. Of course, ideologies that rise to popular acceptance — which become the thinking of the masses — are not necessarily right, good, or true.
Consider the Nazi mentality. When we speak of "Nazis" we are referring to a particular mindset. Human beings, living in a world where evil is part of the very fabric of society, tend to look for superficial signs of "good" and "evil" and confuse the two. Those who imagine that their race or skin color, ethnic background, ideology or religion is "pure," and who justify their actions to oppress everyone else, are basically serving evil, not good. Who would have ever thought that the Nazis would be experiencing growing popularity, today? In Germany, young people have revived old Nazi sentiments. Pop songs praise Nazi loyalties, and young performers give the Nazi salute during performances to cheering crowds. A survey revealed that a quarter of the German police were Nazi sympathizers. Nazis march in the streets, demanding that Germany be only for "pure" Germans, inciting and engaging in violence against all ethnic and foreign immigrant groups. Those who went to Germany due to its announced policy of accepting persecuted people since World War II, have found that they were suddenly out of the frying pan and in the fire. This was literally the case, as apartment buildings with refugees have been firebombed, and people burned to death.
U.S. News & World Report said, the "scene is painfully familiar," people weeping over coffins of women and girls, and German officials offering condolences. "Blithely ignoring the total 6.4 million foreign residents in Germany, [Chancellor Helmut] Kohl insisted that 'Germany is not a country of immigration.'" Noting that nothing has ever changed in the German attitude with regard to people of other races or cultures, the article states: "Bonn hasn't tried to change that mindset — a lapse that has also led it to downplay the neo-Nazi threat. The official line is that antiforeigner attacks are a police problem, not a political one." Another article noted, "To a nationalist, hatred of an enemy — real or perceived — is more important than love of his own country." The article shows Russian youths at a paramilitary training center, wearing armbands, sitting in front of a swastika. Neo-Nazis are found everywhere from England to South Africa to Sweden to the US, with the common claim that "nationalism" is good and all foreigners (or minorities) are bad and must be eliminated.
The Nazi mentality is found much closer to home, in the US. In the US, the Ku Klux Klan felt it had the God-given mission in life to oppress, torture, and lynch blacks, so as to keep them in their proper place. The neo-Nazi movement is having a comeback. They hold marches in the streets, and recruit young people who believe that the world is theirs for the taking — if they will just stand on someone else's back and take it. What is it about this mentality that just will not go away? It is the Mind of Evil: the thinking that one can do wrong, lie, deceive, abuse, and destroy at will, without ever having to suffer the consequences of one's actions. Evil beings, especially the most evil demons feel "better" by every act of exploitation and suffering they perpetrate upon the good. read more ...
